My AirPod pros are connected to my iPhone but the icon won’t appear

My AirPod pros are connected to my phone the icon won’t appear but they are saying connected. they will not play music or make calls . Whenever I try to do either my screen freezes up. I’ve tried resetting them && disconnected them and forgetting the device I’m really lost here

Hello,

1) Try a full reset: Reset your AirPods

2) Charging icon: it can be slow to appear. Open and close the cover of the charging case a few times

3) If they appear to be connected, but won't play, try this:

a) Open the Control Center

b) Long press on the music controls

c) Select the output option (little up-arrow with circles)

d) Select AirPods
