Sustain Pedal release value not 0

Hi! I have a Yamaha P-45 and a matching sustain pedal. When I press the pedal I receive a value of 127 (on), however when releasing value is around 53 and not 0 (off). So once I press the pedal, it holds the notes forever, despite I release the pedal. Any tips on how to fix that? I just recently started using logic, so I might need some detailed guidance! Thanks in advance.

It will be one of two things... A setting on the piano itself or a Logic control surface problem. Seems like someone had the same problem a few months ago.

Logic: Go to the upper left Logic Pro Menu to "Control Surfaces" select Bypass All control surfaces. Quit and restart Logic.

Piano: Check the keyboard's MIDI implementation. That piano can respond to sostenuto and soft pedal.

Do not press the footswitch when turning the power on. Doing this changes

the recognized polarity of the footswitch, resulting in reversed footswitch

operation. Make sure that power is OFF when connecting or disconnecting the footswitch or pedal.

Also: Read about Local On/Off, setting Local to Off will stop any doubling of notes.
