Markup isn’t working...

Hi, I have an iPhone 8 and for the longest time my markup won’t work. It’s not even a common problem like it won’t save after editing it, it just won’t draw at all. The only time it does do is make a circle of the color I chose after double clicking but that’s it. The ruler works fine and if I try to go to one of my old notes drawing it doesn’t draw on it either but just scrolls. If anyone nows what’s happening I would gladly appreciate it and thank you in advance...

First, please ensure you are updated to iOS 14.4: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you are updated, try a restart: iPhone User Guide: Restart iPhone - Apple Support

If you still have issues, verify if this is occurring with all photos, or specific photos. Also, are these photos locally saved, or are you using iCloud Photos with Optimize enabled? These two articles will help you check:
