Apple Pay not working on my Mac

Question

I am running 10.15.7 Catalina on my 2017 Macbook Air

I have apple pay checked in my privacy settings

I have an iPhone 11 ProMax running 14.3

Apple Pay is installed on my iphone.

When trying to pay on a website (tried a couple different ones), error message repeatedly says it cannot find my iPhone.

Any help out there? Thanks!

Are you using the same Apple ID on both devices?

Try signing out of both Apple IDs and back in.

Yes, I have checked the system preferences for each device and it is the same Apple ID.
