I'm experiencing a delay when I'm trying to record my guitar on GarageBand. I'm plugging in the input of the mini-mac via a 1/4 in. to a 1/8 in. guitar chord.I have a sampled drum kit to play along with but I get a delay in the signal. I'm not using headphones (should I)and going through my TV on a big screen.Any help out there ? Updated to Big Sur 11.1 not long ago.

To begin, we'd suggest disabling any effects you're running through the input for your guitar in GarageBand. This could add a delay in you hearing the guitar since the computer has to process the audio before you hear it.

Finally, you could test this in a new user account to see if this is a system-wide issue or if it's isolated to one account. Create the new user with the steps here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Thank you for your reply ,it's much appreciated and through your suggestions my problem is resolved. The monitor turned off did it for me.Using headphones only now ! :)
