HP Officejet Pro 8600 won't work with my MACBook Air

Ever since the upgrade to MAC OS 11.1 Big Sur

Printer HP Officejet 8600 all-in-one stopped working. It was working wirelessly until the Big Sur upgrade.

I cannot use the printer wirelessly nor connected with a USB because I get the message that the driver will damage my MAC.

I cannot find a fix on HP's website but it is an Apple caused problem since the upgrade is the only variable that has changed. Is there any way to go back in the OS chain to a printer friendly one?
