LG 32UN880. 31.5" 4K --- Blanking out with Big Sur

I have the above monitor for close to a month now; at first, running on the previous Big Sur version 11.0.1 and the display blanks out intermittently for about 1-3 seconds every so often (perhaps, once every couple of hours, sometimes more frequent), quite disrupting.

So, I upgraded Big Sur to (11.1). And, the blanking out frequency dropped tremendously but it is still happen every once in a while; perhaps, once in 3-4 hours.

I am using USB-c <---> USB-c to connect to monitor from MacMini.

The HDMI-1 port is hooked up to my other laptop running Windows; so, I manually flip to activate the display ports using the LG control button at the bottom of the monitor.

The monitor has two HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-c, USB ports.

Question:

  1. How do I troubleshoot this annoying blanking out phenomenon?
  2. Which type of cable is the best for MacMini that will give me the best resolution and most trouble-free?

Mac mini 2018 or later

I have used this specific LG model since my M1 mini arrived with 11.0.1. Now at 11.2.1. I am using it with the M1 mini's HDMI port across a Belkin 4K HDMI 2.1 cable to the HDMI 1 port on this monitor. Absolutely no blanking issues.

Using USB-C to USB-C on this monitor is likely not a supported Apple configuration, and I suggest you obtain the Belkin USB-C to 4K HDMI adapter and then run a quality 4K HDMI cable into the LG HDMI port. That should resolve your blanking display issue, provided your Display preferences are set to Default for Display. High Dynamic Range can be on or off. I initially had it on, but it was adding chroma to black and white text.
