Yes, merging duplicate cards is very obvious and easy to do.
But I like to open a card and use all entered data for another name.
How can this be done easily ?
Exporting a vCard etc is very cumbersome.

Easily done, not so much...
If this is a one off deal you can simply export the vCard.vcf to your Destop
Change the original card every so slightly so it is different; click open the .vcf on the Desktop to import.
....Then change to the new name.
