It sounds like you're asking to confirm it's not possible to include a persons entire body in one photo using Portrait Mode on your iPhone. If you're using the rear-camera, you must be close enough to the subject in your photo to detect their face. If you're trying to include the subject's entire body in the photo, you won't be able to get close enough to detect their face using Portrait Mode.
