Does anyone else run into an issue installing Google File Stream on BigSur on a Macbook Air with the latest M1 chip? I use Google File Stream a lot for my work, it is truly an inconvenience to not having it working on BigSur.
Anyone run into the same situation and did anyone find a solution?

Unfortunately, Google has stated that Drive File Stream isn't ready for M1 Macs yet (under Known Issues): https://support.google.com/a/answer/7491144?hl=en
I haven't found a solution to the problem yet, but I'll let you know if I do find a solution.

Although it's not the perfect solution, Backup and Sync is now working on my M1 Mac mini. It wasn't until a few days ago. It's not file stream but it's probably the next best thing. Also, I have another Mac on my network that has file stream on it (an iMac with Catalina) and I can mount Google Drive as a shared network drive on my M1 since I can connect to my iMac. It works relatively well.
