The following will require any USB keyboard and mouse. If you don’t have them, borrow or buy them, they are inexpensive!

1.     Connect the USB keyboard and mouse to the computer.

2.     Open System Preferences – Bluetooth

3.     Un-pair the wireless keyboard and mouse.

4.     Turn off Bluetooth

5.     Restart the computer in Safe Mode per the directions in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

6.     Restart the computer normally.

7.     Open System Preferences – Bluetooth

8.     Turn on Bluetooth

9.     Re-Pair the wireless keyboard and mouse.

10.  Unplug the USB keyboard and mouse and begin testing the wireless devices again.

It doesn’t have a button on the side, I think it’s a very old one as i purchased it from Wowcher As it’s her first pc and wasn’t sure, it’s been working amazing, I’ve changed the batteries in the keyboard and still no luck, the usb from the mouse isn’t working either, I’m guessing it’s linked, I don’t know if she has accidentally turnt off the Bluetooth, but I can’t check because we can’t get passed the login with password stage because the keyboard isn’t working. I’ve just put an old mouse into it and it’s working fine, but no luck with keyboard :(

Thankyou for your advice tho x

Ok so I’m using a different keyboard and managed to get in, I’ve tried to pair her other mouse and keyboard through Bluetooth, and it’s not finding either of them at all, it telling me in the screen to make sure the mouse has batteries etc but on this particular model the mouse doesn’t seem to have any and there is nowhere obvious that I can try and take the mouse apart
