I have set a time limit, but it doesn't work well and is buggy on my mac

These are my downtime settings

These are my app limit settings

These are my always allowed settings

Content & Privacy are turned off

There are 2 problems that persist. One is that there isn't any settings for safari for downtime. When I enter to safari every website is blocked, even googling and searching is blocked. There isn't settings in always allowed for safari. I wanted to set a time limit for certain websites as you can see, but I didn't want to block all the websites, because I need them for my work. I did some restrictions in app limits where I set a time limit for each individual website (Netflix, Quora, Reddit etc.)

The other problem that persists is the feature to ignore the time limit. The prior problem isn't that big of a deal, but with this, when I try to ignore the time limit when I need to access the website for my work, it takes a significant amount of time to ignore the time limit. I press "ignore the time limit for today" or "remind me in 15 minutes" it takes about 1-2 minutes to let me in and this is very disruptive for my workflow. Why can't it just let me into the website as soon as I press the ignore button. If this is an intentional design, I don't prefer it and there should be an option/setting to at least disable or reduce the waiting time, if not from the usual system preferences then from somewhere more advanced place like terminal or something. And if this is not an intentional desin, then I think it is a bug that should be fixed asap. If there are any suggestions to resolve even one of these problems it would be highly appreciated.

Problems persist in other apps too and I have created guest user too with no results.

I restarted my computer and bypassing time limits isn't buggy anymore. I don't have to wait for minutes for the time limit go away in safari's websites.

Basically what I wanted was to be blocked from everywhere except from the websites and apps that I had whitelisted or put a time limit to. I created a separate login but it was too laborious to set up everything. If Apple just adds a feature where I can whitelist individual websites (in addition to already existing apps that can be whitelisted) when in downtime, it would be great.

I did leave them a feedback for this feature.

If I understand what was posted, you have a suggestion about Safari and (not) restricting what can be accessed when bypassing the Safari time-out, and you have a second suggestion around expediting bypassing the time-out.

What Apple intended here, or what Apple might be interested in changing, only Apple knows.

In general, I’d suggest removing the timeout mechanism.

Or create second login that’s work-only, and using that (only) for work.

Is this a problem that other users are experiencing or no? I didn't find anything in the internet about this before posting here. The time limit persisted in every application and website that I opened. When I tried to bypass it, the hourglass would not turn upside down, I had to wait for it, sometimes even 2 minutes. I have since turned off the downtime mechanism but I didn't turn off the app limits. The thing with the downtime, it restricted me from every website that I tried to enter. But thank you for your suggestion.

Downtime is intended to block access; to provide the user with, well, downtime.

Don't want to be blocked, don't use Downtime.

Or use a separate login. Keep your work stuff in your work login and your home stuff in your home login, etc.

If you want to see changes and enhancements with Downtime, again, have a chat with the folks that work at Apple. The previously-linked Apple Feedback site is one way that the folks at Apple collect suggestions.
