My 2015 MacBook Air suddenly slowed down significantly

I recently had Apple upgrade my OS El Capitan to Big Sur. I now find using apps like "Video Caption Maker" take 1 minute or longer to execute on each command.

I asked to get my old operating system back but was unable.

Any ideas how to fix this?

After downloading Monterey my MacBook Air is so slow. I have gone down the checklist of things from startup and cleaning up not needed items and nothing has helped. I can’t really get online with my Mac because it’s so slow and it’s just been since the update. Can anyone help me please???

Performance Issue on Mackbook air after OS update I did the latest OS 10.15 update and after that I have extremely poor performance, my MacBook has become very slow, its takes forever to login on and load the desktop, switching between users is painful its like I am using the windows laptop all over again :( I checked there are no programs that are running in background, I still have 70GB of free disc space. Cleared temp files, cache but its just very very slow. Even the initial boot up takes very long time, earlier my MacBook used to boot within 10-12 secs but now its just like watching windows to load. Not happy with the new update and not sure if apple will help

Start by checking for updates to your third party software for Big Sur compatibility. The App Store is a good place to begin.
