After downloading Monterey my MacBook Air is so slow.

I have gone down the checklist of things from startup and cleaning up not needed items and nothing has helped. I can’t really get online with my Mac because it’s so slow and it’s just been since the update. Can anyone help me please???

Once a new operating system is downloaded and installed, some high intensity tasks are performed. One example is rebuilding the Spotlight index. Another is preparing and performing the first Time Machine backup.
