Driver for Pixma MG8150

Cannon have decided not to issue up-dated drivers for Pixma MG8150 to allow it to work with Big Slur. Are there any options other than to buy a new printer? Having recently downloaded Big Slur, is it possible to go back to Catalina?

GutenPrint for Mac supports the MG8150 and it may/may not work on Big Sur. This may not work at all if you are using an M1 Mac. Your mileage may vary.

If you decide on a new printer, ensure that it is listed in the Apple AirPrint collection of built-in (networked) printer support that does not require vendor driver support.

If you performed a last Catalina Time Machine backup before the upgrade to Big Sur, you can return to Catalina, just as you left it via booting into Recovery and choosing Restore from Time Machine Backup.

Hi VikingOSX

I am more than grateful for your response. As far as I can see, GlutenPrint does not work on Big Slur, at least as yet. I have automatic backup with Time Machine on an external hard drive, so I guess that would be the answer - i.e. to go back to a date before I installed Big Slur and restore. But not being that tech savvy, in doing so, would I lose any data I have saved since that date?

Many thanks for your help.
