Running diagnostics MacPro 6,1 2013 Model

Simple question: trying to run diagnostics on a new MacPro 6,1 2013. Tried holding D upon startup; tried holding option D. Nothing. There is NO firmware password, just cannot get diagnostics to start either resident or over the net. Machine seems to work fine, but want to run the extended test before I accept it.

anyone with a clue?

Tried searching the database here, but all I seem to find is many unrelated posts about MacBook Pro which as we all know, is NOT a MacPro.

Is anything shown on the screen when you hold down Option + D? If the Mac never had macOS 10.12.6+ installed, then the online Apple Diagnostics won't be available. If this is the case, then you can try installing or upgrading macOS to at least 10.13 so you have access to the online diagnostics. If this Mac doesn't have an OS you can access, then you can create a bootable macOS USB installer if you have access to another Mac:

If macOS 10.12.6+ has at one time been installed, then you can try the following:

Have you tried connecting the Mac directly to the router using an Ethernet cable?

Try a PRAM Reset (hold the PRAM Reset for at least three chimes).

Have you tried using a USB keyboard and tried using multiple USB ports?

Have you even been presented with an icon to connect to WiFi?
