Emailing screenshot attachment breaks email thread

When replying to an email, particularly one that contains dot points, and I insert a screen shot to respond to dot point number 2 for example, everything in the email thread below the inserted screen shot disappears for the recipient. When I look at my sent emails, it appears OK.


We have recently updated to OS Big Sur 11.1. Have been getting plenty of comments back since we have updated, so I am presuming they are connected?


Would it be my Mail settings, or something in the OS?

Hi there garthole75,


Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are having an issue sending email attachments. Does this issue continue when you send to different recipients, or does it seem to happen with specific ones? Are you using the built in Mail app, or are you using webmail or a third party email app? If you send the email using webmail, does it do the same thing?
