Google Drive Stream

Google File Stream is not working (I'm on Big Sur) - the Security & Privacy general tab does not give an option to approve "Google, Inc" as an unidentified developer

Have you tried restarting the Mac and then checking to see if you’re able to approve it? If you continue to run into an error, you’ll want to reach out to Google to see if they can help further: Google Drive Help. We hope this helps.

I have a MacBook Pro; just upgraded to macOS BigSur (now 11.2.1) and Google Drive File stopped working. I see the issue has been logged a lot; most have followed the same steps, restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling, hounding the halls of Google tech support and all point back to it being a Mac issue. Google File Stream requests sign in. The Sign In button takes you to an error message that the Drive File Stream requires approval and instructions to allow loading system software from Google, Inc in the Security & Privacy pane. There's a button to Open System Preferences. That pane does not have an option to allow systems software from Google, Inc.
