As mentioned it will work as you can see. It will not however charge as fast as the iPhone 12 series. Per the info I posted in bold black only the iPhone 12 series utilizes faster wireless charging using the MagSafe because only those models have the ability to do the “magnetic alignment”. All other devices that can use the MagSafe charger will charge using the Qi charging capabilities. It’s exactly as the bold info shows which comes from the Apple site where the MagSafe charger is for sale. It’s on the part that shows compatible devices.

It’s compatible with MagSafe, but it won’t charge as fast as an iPhone 12 will. It will charge at the same rate that it would on a Qi charging pad or with an iPad 12W charger.
