Security Concerns

For 2 months now a red dot appears at the top of my screen every time I make a call. It’s troublesome because a good friend told me the red dot indicates your calls are being tapped by government agencies for one reason or another and Apple Security has tip-toed around a direct answer... stating due to the complexity of the subject they basically just shuffled me along.

I’m interested in a definite answer... not just an opinion. I reaching out here... help!
