Face ID and ringer automatically stopped working

My iphone permanently changed to mute mode without any reason. My ringer button ( one on the top of the volume buttons is not showing any effect at all) I tried turned it up and down again and again but show no effect. The same goes for my face id also stopped working. I thought that would be a software issue or something. I checked my phone is up to date and there was no accident with it in last couple of days. To make both things working I tried switching off my phone again and again and changing the settings but that didn’t work. So I finally reset my settings to set my face ID again. It is not even scanning my face like I am not even in front of the scanner. Please help me..

Face ID and the Ringer are not directly related hardware. In your case, both are not working. I am assuming that you have explored all areas of troubleshooting for the ringer not working. I am going to list them below for you to review and to ensure that you have not missed anything-

  1. Check to see that the Silent switch is not set to ON. Silent switch is located on the Top Left Side of your iPhone.
  2. Open Settings Sounds & Haptics Ringer and Alerts : Make sure this is not set to OFF or too Low. Set Change with Buttons to OFF. Below that Make sure that there is a Ringtone selected.
  3. Check to see that Do Not Disturb is set to OFF. Open Settings Do Not Disturb : Set this to OFF
  4. Check to see that Silence Unknown Callers is set to OFF. Open Settings Phone Silence Unknown Callers : Set this to OFF
  5. Make sure that a ringer sound is assigned. Open Settings Sounds & Haptics Ringtone : Ensure that a Ringtone is assigned here.
  6. If all of the above is OK on your iPhone then I recommend that you make sure of the coverage that you have active with your carrier and have them fix the issue(s) whether it is hardware or software.

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
