today I turned on my computer to work and the keyboard doesn't work. Tried everyhting and nothing. the laptop has only been in my hands for a year and it's a macbook air 2019

You'd better contact Apple Support to tell them about the keyboard issue or make Genius Bar reservation if your neighborhood retail Apple Store is open or find near you opened Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air.
