New RAM Problem

My MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) won’t accept new ram cards (corsair:mac memory/1066MHz/ 2x4GB).

I swapped the old ram back & I have the same problem.

This is what pops up before repeatedly rebooting.

Put the original back in as a test...(?)

Verify your tech specs on RAM—Mac has always been finicky about RAM

Best to buy RAM from reliable source with the exact specs.

Usually a lifetime guarantee on RAM from third party source like:

Mac Compatible Memory | High Performance RAM | Crucial.com

3 beeps is a RAM issue.

Try re-seating the RAM: MacBook Pro: How to remove or install memory - Apple Support https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201165

you are testing for both bad RAM or bad bank—

one stick at a time in each bank, If the RAM sticks prove to work individual—and banks work individually.

Other known issues are:

worn clips

or RAM banks slightly distorted/out of flat (use shims)

When reinstalling the original Apple memory make sure both modules are fully seated and latched into place. Many times the module nearest the Keyboard will pop loose when installing the second module nearest the Bottom Case. After installing the memory I like to use a narrow non-metallic stick (nylon probe or a toothpick) to gently and carefully press on the corner of the module nearest the Keyboard making sure not to touch any of the very fragile & delicate surface mount components on the memory module. Then I like to press down on the other memory module.

Also the memory slot nearest the Bottom Case tends to develop cracked solder joints from many years of the center of the Bottom Case pressing against the base of the memory slot. If the memory slot has cracked solder joints you will get the laptop to freeze or get graphical glitches on the display when you press against the center of the Bottom Case (or press on the black base of the memory slot) while the laptop is powered on. If pressing the center of the Bottom Case or the black plastic base of the memory slot doesn't cause a system freeze or graphical glitches, then it may be Ok. Then it is time to test the system using a single memory module. Test each slot individually. Then test the other memory stick as well (by itself).

As @leroydouglas mentions Macs are very picky about the memory they use. Was the Corsair memory listed as being guaranteed compatible with your Mac? If not, then return it. It is best to only purchase memory from Crucial or OWC. Even then make sure to use the tools on their respective websites to identify the exact part numbers that are compatible with your Mac.
