Question on Mac Mini M1

Office 2011 got dropped I think at Mojave, when 32 bit apps became no longer usable in the Mac OS. Any 32 bit software ended back then. Your new Mac mini M1 will be a screamer, but some older software just won't run. Google "how to find 32 bit apps Mac OS" or something close. You'll find out more. The difference in speed, elegance, and productivity will be amazing for you. And, in case your wondering, your iMac won't be able to be used as a monitor unfortunately. That's how I stumbled on your post, I'm seeing if there are any hacks anyone has found.

I use the Microsoft Office 2019 on my M1 - it's the DMG installer with license key installed on my personal M1 Mini.

You can also use the Office 365 subscription suite and download it as well (my work computer has it).

Office will be fine as long as you update to the newest version.

The first time you run it the software will load slowly, but that's just Rosette 2 learning how your Office works.

The very next time that you open office it will run very well.

You'll probably need a HDMI adapter if you're going to use a KVM.

No issue using Office with the M1 but you will need Office 2016 (not supported but still works) or later. There are many docks out there to pick from depending how many and what additional ports you want. I use a Digit TS3 plus dock but I have no monitors connected to it. I use a TB monitor connected directly to the TB port on the Mac.
