How do I get my phone off of a negative looking screen?

You may have Color filters set to ON.

Open Settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ Display & Text Size ➔ Ensure that Smart Invert and Classic Invert are set to OFF ➔ Color Filters : Ensure that this is set to OFF.
