Hello/help, I'm a total noob to midi.

I'm trying to get midi data(programed beats) from my Boss DR-770 into logic pro (I assume the piano roll editor) so I can use the logic drum sounds with my saucy beats.

My interface is a Presonus Firepod.

I can't get logic to "hear" the midi coming from the drum machine in any of available track forms, midi or software instrument.

I assume I want a software instrument track, but the input, or controller should, be either the midi input of the firepod, which doesn't show up as an option, or maybe identify the drum machine as a software control interface?

Any help would be stellar.

Please assume I'm REAL dumb. for instance, I currently have the MIDI IN of by drum machine going to the MIDI IN of my Firepod, and I'm not even sure if that's right.

Grateful.
