Apple Watch 4 digit Passcode

In the latest update my watch is asking for the passcode a lot. It now seems to randomly asking for the passcode and every am.

Even when I have my phone in my pocket and every morning. Anyone having the same issues?

I want to at least select the 4 digit passcode as it is difficult to put a 6 digit passcode in, especially when I am on the run in the morning. Any way I can turn this off or at least back to 4 digits?

Note: This latest change is annoying enough that I may consider a different brand watch in the future.
