Why does my iPhone screen turn sideways on a regular basis?

Is it happening when you turn your phone sideways or are you saying it happens randomly? If it’s random there could be an issue with your proximity sensor. If you don’t want it to do it at all you can turn orientation lock on https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204547
