Zoom audio not working in headphones on Mac

I saw this issue on a previous question and had it myself. It never got answered and I wanted to try to provide the answer in case anybody else looks for it.


If you are using Zoom and your headphones aren't working (but are otherwise working fine on your MacBook), then you likely need to change the audio settings in Zoom itself. In Zoom, select Preferences and then choose the "Audio" from the lefthand menu. At the very top you can choose the output for device and change it from your speakers to another device such as Air Pods or headphones.
