Connectivity issues from Apple Powerbook M1 to Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin Monitor: S2719DC

I just bought a powerbook M1 13''. I tried connecting the USBC cable that came with the powerbook to my Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin Monitor: S2719DC. The monitor however failed to recognise any signal from the powerbook. I was not expecting this from such an expensive laptop. Is this a known issue? If not how can I fix this? Poor first impression as far as I am concerned.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Thanks for your advice.

A few points.

1 ) Going to "About This Mac" -> "Support" -> "Specification" just brought up and http redirect loop so I could not see the page.

2 ) I tried using the USB C Port on the M! and monitor and it did not work.

3 ) I ended up buying the Apple Multiport Adaptor and basically connecting via HDMI. The HDMI connectivity worked and the screen populated on the Dell Ultrathin monitor.

FYI I just bought a dell USB C P3221D monitor and attached the USB C wire that came with the monitor to the M1 and it worked as expected.

Maybe there is a a particular issue with the S2719DC monitor or that fact is that I did not get a dell USB C wire with it and so had to use my own which may be a reason why it did not work with the USB C connection.
