How can I connect my Philips 346B1c ultra wide monitor and MacBook Pro 2019 with the USB C cable? It says there is no signal.

Dell U2419HC monitor USB-C connection to Macbook (Retina, Early 2016) Hi I have recently purchased a Dell U2419HC monitor to use with my 2016 MacBook. I bought it specifically to use the USB-C connection and the USB ports on the monitor, but when I connect it with the USB-C cable and select USB-C as the input, it says: "Scanning for signal", followed by "No USB Type-C signal from your device" I'm therefore having to connect it with an HDMI cable. Also, none of the USB ports on the monitor seem to work - they don't connect a device to the Macbook or charge the device. I've read that Dell does not support Mac OS, but I'm hoping there's a work around. Can anyone help me with this? Would purchasing a USB-C / DP adapter help? The OS is macOS Mojave, 10.14.6. Thanks!

Connecting Dell monitor to Mackbook Pro good morning, I have a macbook pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports). I'm trying to connect a Dell Monitor P2419HC to the MBP using a USB-C cable but the screen doesn't detect the signal from the MBP. I started by trying an HDMI cable with an adapter but that didn't work. then got the USB-C cable but still doesn't work. I've tried restarting but nothing works.What else can I do? thanks

The USB-C cable that ships with your Mac is a Charge-ONLY cable, and can not be used for high speed data transfers or displays. If I were King, I would paint it orange and include a warning sticker that it was not for data.

Of course you are right. That is the explanation. I have a couple of those cables and immediately paint them orange.
