Quicktime says that a file isn't compatible, but the file is open

It's a pretty odd glitch I've encountered, but I've trimmed a Quicktime .mov video and when I attempt to save the trimmed clip, I receive this error:

I don't understand. The file is a .mov and the trimmed clip is also a .mov, so why can I not save the edited clip?

Please help me with this.
