I am unable to open a .mov file with Quicktime

A message comes up saying "The file isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player."

Has something changed?

My OS is Big Sur.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

Thank you. I found out the file wasn’t good. I redownloaded it and then it worked. Thx.

Some old codecs are no longer supported. In Mojave QuickTime Player offered to convert them to new format.
