Is the macbook pro M1 with 16GB RAM good for editing in premiere pro?

Hi everyone,

I was curious if the macboo pro M1 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD is good enough to edit projects in premiere pro? I edit videos as a hobby, but it is really important that my new laptop can properly edit videos. So I want to use multiple effects, color grading, transitions, etc. I have heard that premiere pro sometimes has troubles with the macbook M1, even though they are working on this. Is it worth it buying the macbook pro M1 or is it safer to go with the 16" macbook pro (2019), with i7-processor?

Welcome!

You will likely get faster and more detailed responses by asking in Adobe's Premier Pro forums. I have not seen any negative comments about M1s and PP here since the M1s came out, but I could have missed some.

As PP is not a Apple product, the most experienced users and therefore the most helpful with this questiosn with be in the Adobe forums.

We are end users like you, not Apple, so we do not get internal test results of new models.
