I tried to install the latest macOS update, I didn't have enough space on my laptop, so I had to make some room. Now my laptop has more than enough memory, but I keep getting this error. I already tried booting up in safe mode, but I keep getting the same error.

Well one more way might be to reboot in Recovery Mode - Command + r - keys immediately at startup and connected via Ethernet. Presented with various option >> choose Reinstall macOS. This time, it was download the Full Installer 12.18 GB and attempt the installation. Some call this an In-place Installation. It should upgrade 11.1 to 11.2.
Strongly suggest doing a Time Machine Backup Before attempting and if doable - create a Bootable Clone to external drive as Insurance

Same for me... several times, no problem with the internet connection but failed several times. No file dowloaded.
