Missing Email folder

Hello Apple People,

I have Yahoo! email through Att.net, and I have a folder called "Notes" that is missing from my phone and my iPad. This folder contains many subfolders, it's where I store many reference emails. It appears fine on the Yahoo/AT&T webmail app, in my desktop version of Thunderbird, on the Yahoo Mail app on my phone and on my iPad, and on the mail client on an Android tablet. It's only missing on the native email app on my iPhone 12 and older iPad 2. I've checked the email settings and they are correct. I've deleted the mail account and added it back. I've tried adding it as a Yahoo account which works but the Notes folder is missing. I've tried adding as an "Other" account but it won't save the account password (that is I put it in, but then it tells me I need to add it...and runs me in a circle).

It was there before for years, but disappeared recently when I rearranged and cleaned up my folders. IF I add a new folder, it shows up. I guess I probably have my answer - I can just move the subfolders to a new folder and they will appear. But why oh why won't this one folder called "Notes" show up??

Have you tried to search Mail app, with search option set to all mailboxes, for some of email you keep in that “Notes” folder? Is Mail showing any results for that search?

If your Att.net account is set two use two factor authentication, then those prompts to re add the password during process of adding email account to Mail app are more likely due to you providing wrong password; you would need to generate an-app specific password for Mail app through Att.net webmail.

Saying this if password is still not accepted, dismiss the prompt then in upper right tap ‘Next’ and save account with wrong settings; when account is added go to Settings > Mail > Account, then access account configuration screen and edit all settings for both incoming (IMAP) and outgoing server (SMTP) with those you got from Att.net.

Hope this would help you. Best of luck.

If I search for an email that I know is saved in my "Notes" folder, I can't find it. I also can't file a new email into anything in the "Notes" folder, which has like 20+ subfolders. I also can't navigate to that folder/subfolders in order to search for an email I know I filed there. Again this is an Apple specific problem. I can see the "Notes" folder everywhere else. Is it possible Notes is some built in folder (like Archive or Sent) and that's hiding it? I guess I'm going to move the subfolders to another parent folder with a different name, since new folders I create ARE showing up.
