Cant read Samsung T5 on Macbook Air M1

My T5 works on Macbook Pro 2014, Mojave. After I plug it in Macbook Air M1, Big Sur it wont mount or if occassionally, then files are not visible.

Some USB drives are not compatible with an M1 Mac. Whether this will be fixed with a software or firmware update to the M1 or the external drive is unknown. There are lots of threads on these forums with people reporting USB drive issues with the M1 Macs. Contact Seagate and Apple directly for support and to alert them to the issue.

I don't have a solution for you on this.

However, I do have 4 Samsung T5 drives (1 512GB and 3 1TB models). They all work perfectly with my M1 MacBook Air.

When I got my M1 MBA, I plugged in a new 1TB T5 and set up Time Machine to use it. That drive is now a read-only drive (unless using Time Machine to perform a backup.). This may have something to do with encryption(?).

Anyway, I just wanted to say that, for me, there are no issues with using a Samsung T5 with the M1 MacBook Air. I do believe I had formatted them specifically for the Mac before using them on my MacBook Pro (Intel i9 model). Also, I'm using the original short cables that come with the T5.
