How to close documents in Preview? Hi, When I try to close docs in Preview (by clicking the red button / command + W) - these docs stay open (I can see them when I right-click on Preview icon). Is there an option to close these documents in some way? Thanks, Gal.

MacAirOS Catalina, Preview not saving PDF changes in added blanket pages Since some days, I have lost a lot of work done on my PDF documents opened with Preview. When I insert a blank page to a PDF document in Preview and save & close the file and then re-open it, the changes are not saved. How could I fixe it ?

Preview: opening and closing of documents and windows is very confusing. Is there any way to tell Preview to actually close the documents that are (tabbed) in a window so that they do not re-open the next time I fire up Preview? Please do not Shift-Command-W me. That is most inconvenient. Can't you just add a stupid dialog asking what you want to keep open and what to close when you hit the red button or Command-W? Thank you Evanthia.

What type of document? Is it PDF, read-only or otherwise protected? Is the document on your computer in a folder or did you open it from an email attachment?
