Still no fix in macOS 11.2 for new Mail notifications?

I'm hoping against all the odds that the long standing Notifications bug in Mail.app might get fixed in 11.3, finally!

The only way I can get some kind of notification of new mail is by disabling "Play sounds for other mail actions in Mail's preferences".

If I enable it I get nothing from System preferences --> Notifications

Disabled I do get the alert in the right hand corner.

If I switch System preferences --> Notifications for Mail Off I get no notification in Mail except for the unread red dot in the dock.

There's more, and people testing early betas of Big Sur were aware of it and reported it to Apple.

Your responses are not very helpful here.

I have the same problem too. I've spoken with a senior tech about it several times and it is definitely something the engineers are aware of and working on. It is intermittent on both my iMac and MacAir. Probably have to wait for 10.10.3 until it's fixed. Only consolation at this point is that it isn't your settings or your machine.

What's your problem?

Try not to get into dispute from unhelpful responses. I came into this thread because I am very much having a MAIL issue with 11.x, and 11.2 did not fix it.

On my MacBook Pro, opening the lid after a period of rest, everything else works, but launching Mail becomes application not responding; however, if I just leave it and move on to something else, Mail comes to life. This has just happened again, but while I came to this discussion, read the previous commentary, and began to write this, Mail became active behind Safari, in which I am writing this. Without question, this is a Big Sur issue, as Mail works fine on my iPad, iPhone, Mojave Mac, retrieving from the same mailbox at the same post office (...@me.com).

My bottom line is that you are not alone in experiencing Mail issues with Big Sur. I, like you, await a fix. Yes, it can be frustrating. It might be useful to share details of the machine on which you are having your issue. I'm experiencing it on my MacBook Pro, but interestingly, it is not apparent on my wife's MacBook Air, which is also up to date with Big Sur. Perhaps the issue is unique to certain hardware. Mine is a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013).

Yes I have an issue with Mail Notification since 11.01/11.1/11.2

I get no new mail notification, no sound nothing— major bummer.

I have tried SafeBoot, disabling mail plug-in (Spam Sieve), reinstalling the macOS.... Nothing

Never had an issue going way back to when Notifications were first introduced after Apple bought out the Growl.app
