I'm using mac os Catalina version 10.15.7 My "Recents" folder was loaded and now everything has disappeared from the folder. Any ideas on how to find the items?

Recents is a Smart Folder, so it is dependent on a working Spotlight index.
You can try reindexing Spotlight.

Thanks, I found the missing folder with contents. Now I just need to figure how to place it on the side menu bar. R
