AirPods Pro volume too LOUD

Help,

I've adjusted the volume to the bottom, I've turned on Reduce Loud Sounds and limit volume to 75db, but they are still too loud whenever there's "Music on Hold". Somehow the volume level of music on hold is much higher than that of normal people speaking. In any case, I need a way to lower the volume. Also the control center volume level doesn't do anything while on a call, even when I long-press to bring up the full screen display of volume level. I've seen other posts asking the same question. Please Apple give us granular control of the volume level (1-99% by increments of 1%)!

Hi Eric,

Unfortunately I already read those and they don't help. As I wrote in my original issue, "I've adjusted the volume to the bottom, I've turned on Reduce Loud Sounds and limit volume to 75db, but they are still too loud".

Hello bkorek,

Thank you for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We are glad that you reached out with your AirPod questions. We will do what we can to help you find the answers you need. Check out this guide with information on how to Adjust the settings of your AirPods. If all the settings look correct there, you may want to Change the AirPods volume while listening to iPhone.

We hope this information helps.

Cheers!

Brian,

Thanks for providing information about the circumstances that cause this problem. Have you tried to pair the AirPods to another device type? If not (and possible), pair the AirPods to another device to check to see if the problem continues. If needed, here are instructions on how to Set up AirPods with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices. You may also find this link helpful: Connect and use your AirPods and AirPods Pro.

If the issue is on multiple devices, you'll want to Contact Apple for support and service.

Cheers!

Hi SnickZ,

It happens with music on hold almost all the time (95%). It also happens with people who either speak loud or who have good voice projection (one friend is a singer and I often ask him to speak more softly because I can't turn volume down any further). 90% of the time I'm on Verizon directly or through a micro-cell. It has happened with Wi-Fi calling, though I don't use it very often.

Brian,

We are glad that you had a chance to look over your settings and adjust them as needed. We'd like to pause and gather a few more details about your issue, so we can ensure we have a correct understanding of the problem. Does the issue happen with all calls you put on hold or just ones from specific numbers/businesses?

Do you use Wi-Fi Calling on your device? If so, does the issue only happen while connected to Wi-Fi on a call using Wi-Fi Calling?

Once more information about the issue is posted, others in the Apple Support Communities may be able to help out.

Cheers!
