Airpod replacement isnt working

I just got my replacement airpod and it wont connect to my iPhone. The airpod works and what not but doesn't play audio from my phone and when connected, it is shown as "airpod pros" (my original airpod) and "airpod pros #2" (replacement airpod). I'm confused because it'll show that I am connected to both yet only my original airpod will play audio and the the replacement won't. Not only that but when both airpods are in the case at one time the light continues to flash amber. Help please?
