When signing in to my Apple ID I get a response saying my ID is being used to sign into a new device in a town 20 miles away. I live in a major urban area. What gives?

Battery Drain When I get on the North Carolina lottery website with my 13 inch MacBook pro, 15 inch MacBook pro, and iPhone 6plus my battery is being drained in just minutes and gets very hot on all 3 devices which have all updates applied. This just recently started being a problem. It occurs if I am signed in or not. Any suggestions?

If this is an e-mail you received, or a popup on the screen, about the time you were actually logging in, there is probably nothing to worry about. The location in the e-mail is where your ISP reported it. If their servers are in a location distant from you, there will be a large error. Based on other posts I have read, the distant error can be very large.
