Thanks, that’s the first thing I did and they told me I am set up for visual voicemail but it still does not show up on my phone, when I click on the voicemail tab all it says is call voicemail, no other tabs or anything to make changes are available on my phone,
That's a carrier feature. Contact your cellular carrier.
Call them back and ask them to re-provision your line. Escalate the call until you get someone who understand what that means.

Unfortunately, the first line of customer support you get when you call your carrier quite often doesn't know anything beyond what's in the script they're given to read.
