I've noticed an oddity in Big Sur: files/folders located in ~/Dropbox won't stay locked. I choose 'lock' from the Finder's inspector, but it won't stay applied to anything in Dropbox - the 'locked' checkbox shows a checkmark for a second or two, then clears itself. Anyone else finding this?

Since this is a folder managed by Dropbox, it's likely some type of restriction in place to make sure sync works when you have it set to sync. For more information, you'll want to consult with Dropbox: Contact Dropbox

Yes, folders and files in other paths under ~/ lock properly. The issue appears to be limited to anything within ~/Dropbox.
Like you, I'd previously wondered if Dropbox syncing was part of the issue so I paused syncing (via the Dropbox app) but the issue persists.

Funny though that I never had this problem before Big Sur (just like how Messages suddenly won't show me a contact's name in notifications, just their phone number).
