Airpods Volume Loud With Windows 10 Laptop
Hi everyone. I started this discussion because I've been having issues with my Airpods playing super loud when connected to a Windows 10 laptop. If I attempt to turn the volume down from the system, nothing changes. I also cannot change/alter the registry files since it is my work laptop and I'm constantly in meetings so changing them back and forth wouldn't work for me regardless. I however, found a solution to this problem and will be posting it here for others since it appears to be an issue that I have yet found a reasonable working solution too.
After searching long and hard for a solution, I came across an app called, "EarTrumpet". This app lets you change the volume of ALL your connected devices independently from each app! I was then able to change the volume for Teams, Skype, Zoom.. etc all within Ear Trumpet. The best part about this is that its integrated into your volume icon. So when you click on your volume icon, Ear Trumpet opens up like the default audio settings would but just with more options. This is super convenient since I was able to adjust the volume over webcast (browser) but wasn't able to adjust it in Teams before installing EarTrumpet. It appears to set the volume/threshold at 100% so that's why it was super loud on my Airpods initially. I now lowered it to about 30% and now it sounds like its supposed to.
I hope someone finds this useful!
