Big Sur upgrade - now unable to print

I just upgraded to Big Sur OS11.2 and now my Canon MF220 printer will not print. I’m getting a “filter failed” message. Tried to update Canon driver but Mac said it was incompatible with operating system. Any options short of buying new printer?

Hi J Doc,

Try adding the printer as an AirPrint printer. Make sure the printer itself is on WiFi.

  1. Go to System Preferences
  2. Go to "Printers & Scanners".
  3. Select the Canon, and hit the "-".
  4. Click "+".
  5. Select the Canon, and in the "Use", select "AirPrint."
  6. Add it, and try printing again.

Please respond back if this did not work.

Cheers,

Jack
