Iphone 10 video format problem.

I was recording a video when my iphone ran out of battery. Nothing from the video was saved except this: IMG-1378.MOV When I try to open this file in Quick Time I get this message: The document “IMG-1378 (1).MOV” could not be opened. The file format is not compatible with quick time.

File size is 17m. Can this video be repaired? Opened with another app? or converted?

Image Capture: error 9937 I have a solution. And it works fine. This error is due to videos (no matter size of file) High Deifinition setting which turns automatically in iPhone after SW update. Follow these steps: Settings, Camera, Formats... chose 'Most Compatible' Re-start iPhone. Open the video you could not transfer to your Mac (either using Image Capture or Photos, because same error happens in both programs). When video plays on iPhone chose 'Edit' then cut last or beginning of the vide 1 second and hit 'finish'. iPhone will ask you if you wish to save it as save or new clip, chose 'save'. (If you chose 'save as new clip' you will see the new recording by letter 'E' added to beginning of same file name which you just eddited... but this file will not open in QuickTime Player due to codec problems). Give it at least 1 minute before going to file transfer (I do not know why but it seems program may be doing something in background) Now you can transfer the video to your computer without a problem. video failed to save due to -5823 from my ipad I was making a video using my ipad. It usually saved to my photos. But this time it fauiled to save due to -5823. What does that mean. At first I thought it has run out of space and I deleted some videos from my photo album but it still can't save. Can someone help?

What on Earth is the video codec named “dish”? We have iPhone 13 Camera settings at HEVC, HD, 1920 x 1080. I just recorded dozens of video clips and copied them to a Mac. For all of the clips, Finder and QuickTime Player report the Codecs as AAC, Timed Metadata, HEVC. Howsomever… One 30-second clip in the batch reports the Codecs as AAC, dish, Timed Metadata, HEVC. Note the “dish”. That is a problem, because this file can’t be imported for editing. For example, Adobe Media Encoder throws this error for only this file: IMG_8982.MOV could not be imported. Could not open source file. Please check that file exists with correct permissions. What the heck is that "dish" doing there? Any ideas about what might be going on?

Nope.

The file wasn't saved and what you have is just a second at most.
