Can't upgrade iCloud storage on M1 MacBook Pro

So I've just entered the Apple world with the M1 MacBook Pro.

Planning to move all my Google photos to iCloud and need to upgrade to 50GB.

When I upgrade through system preferences > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage I get to the point where it asks for my password then it loads and just displays a small window with the "Volume Purchase Plan" webpage open. In fact, it just opens a small browser of apple.com. I can't close preferences and have to shut it down using resource manager.

I've tried on Windows app as well and same thing happens. Very confused and wondering if I'm missing something?

Thank you for any help!

Hey there, spyraven.

We understand that you're unable to upgrade your iCloud storage plan. You can check out this article to see all ways to try to upgrade that: Upgrade your iCloud storage plan

You can also see if restarting your MacBook Pro may help: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac It seems like a simple step, but it can sometimes help resolve issues.

Let us know if the issue continues after that or not. Take care!
