Google Drive File Stream Not Working

Hi,

I have a new MacBook Air 2020 with the M1 Chip in and I cannot get Google File Drive System to work with it. I have downloaded the app fine but when I try to sign in it shows this:

However when I go to allow it the Google LLC isn't in the options. I am a teacher and all of my files are saved on here! How do I solve this issue?

Google Drive won't uninstall on MacBook Air M1 When I try to access Google drive online, whether it be on either my PC or my Mac, I get the message that I can't access the files because Google Drive is offline. The other tabs in my browser allow me to access any page anywhere else on the web, so clearly something is up. I installed the Google Drive app on both machines. Uninstalled it on the PC without problem, but I can't delete it on my Mac. When I right-click to delete it in Finder, a pop-up tells me I can't because 'it's open'. Even after I have restarted my Mac, it still tells me the app is open! I've tried in Launchpad, holding down the Option key and double-clicking on the icon, but the little delete cross that should appear top right of the icon is non-existent and so the app doesn't delete there either! Help!

Google Drive Install Problem - Mac desktop Hello, I was hoping to get some help with some trouble I’m having installing Google Drive on my Mac desktop. I’m being prevented from loading the Google Drive for the first time because of block in the Security & Privacy function. Im asked to disconnect my account and sign in again, which I’ve done several times. Every time I check the Security and Privacy screen, the button to “allow” the Google Drive app to be loaded is grayed out. I rebooted a few times and tried the process again to no avail. I also followed some others advice for watching the Security and Privacy screen for a few second opening of the “allow” box once once i disconnect and re login, but I have not seen that happen. OSX Big Sur vs the new Google Drive app for Mac There's a crucial bug issue with the new Google Drive app for Mac. It cannot be used for multiple user accounts on the same machine. If I sign in, the other account will be disconnected and can't sign in, vice versa. I'm using OSX Big Sur (v11.5.1) on iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019) with Google Drive app (v49.0.11.0). I have tried to clean the cache in Drive FS folder (~/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS/) and have restarted multiple times as well as uninstalled and reinstall, no changes. Also Google won't allow users to download and install the old Backup & Sync app for Mac (before get replaced by Google Drive app). I wanted to know if there are other users experiencing the same issue?

Hi eladams3,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It appears that Google Drive doesn't work with your new MacBook Air.

We found this: Google Drive for desktop release notes. It appears support for the M1 Mac comes in April 2021. For further information we'd need to direct you to Google.

Hi there, many of us having the same issue. It appears even with older machines (MacBook Air 2018), this same issue exists. Big Sur has been a real problem for me. If you read the notes provided by google, they don't expect a fix to be immediately available. They are saying APRIL 2021 but I am hoping that's expectation management. So if I purchased a computer with Big Sur, how to I get an older software so I can run google desk top.
